About the company: Champagne Castle Adventure Centre was started in 2006 by couple Jakes and Cornelia Saaiman and Glenn Tungay. Jakes has worked as an adventure guide in Switzerland, Namibia, Uganda and through out South Africa prior to settling down with his wife Cornelia to start the adventure centre. We identified the magnificent Central Drakensberg as our base due to the endless adventure possibilities and hope this area will soon become known as an adventure destination for the traveler.
Location: Co-owner of the adventure centre is Glenn Tungay also owner of Dragon Peaks Mountain Resort, where the adventure centre is based on. We are located on the R600 via Winterton next to the world famous Drakensberg Boys' Choir. (GPS Co-ordinates: S 29 01 113 sec/ E 29 26 145 sec)
The facilities on the resort includes:a wide variaty of accommodation, camp sites, a play park, games room, restaurant and pub, outdoor lapa, two conference centres, wedding venue, dams for fishing, swimming pool, a superette, tennis courts, TV lounge and a volley ball court.
We are just 4 hours drive from Johannesburg and 2 and 1/2 hours away from Durban. Due to the easy access, this is an ideal location for a weekend away or a fun filled team building break away for your company.
