School Groups - Adventure Camps



Champagne Castle Adventure Centre offers exclusive adventure camps in the Central Drakensberg. A small guide – learner ratio, exhilarating activities, accommodation and scrumptious meals is what makes this exclusive.


Typical program:

8:00- 9:00 Breakfast

9:00 – 12:00 Adventure Zone (2 of the following activities per day: zip-lining, king swing, tree climb, white water tubing, obstacle course, paintball, abseiling, hiking, archery)

12:00 – 13:00 Lunch

13:00 – 14:30 Free time (swimming, volley ball, tuck shop, soccer)

14:00 – 16:00 Team Building Activities (3 of the following activities per day: Slalom Ski, Picture Riddles, General Knowledge Game Show, Memory Game, Rhythmic Sticks, Giant A-frame Walk, Tug O’War, Sewerage Snake, Canoe Relay)

16:00 – 17:00 Free time (swimming, volley ball, tuck shop, soccer)

17:00 – 18:00 Shower

18:00 – 19:00 Dinner

19:00 – 21:00 Evening program (e.g. stok brood evening, night sound appreciation, night hike, bug hunt, concert)

Teachers are responsible for learners after 21:00 at night until 9:00 in the morning, unless prior arrangements are made with the adventure centre.


Learners will stay in the Mountain Base, which is situated next to the Sterkspruit River. It is within walking distance to the resort and its facilities yet far enough away to have a sense of privacy. The Mountain Base contains 20 two bed cabins and three dormitories sleeping up to 100 people. Bedding can be provided at an additional cost pp/night. In front of the Mountain Base is a huge airfield on which sports e.g. rugby, soccer, volley ball etc. can be played on.
